Unbroken: One Uyghur’s Fight for Freedom
In Unbroken, Rushan Abbas tells the story of her lifelong commitment to freedom, democracy, and human rights – from her activism as a student in Ürümqi to her current work in exile. The reading will be followed by a panel discussion that sheds light on the systematic persecution of the Uyghurs by the Chinese Communist Party, international responses, and the transnational dimensions of state oppression.
