Berlin Insights: Politics, History, and the Road to Freedom

Vor Ort
Führung

Join us on a guided tour of Berlin’s government district and gain a deeper insight into the intersections of politics, architecture and history in the German capital. Following German reunification, Berlin was officially declared the seat of government and parliament in 1991 – a political decision of great symbolic and historical significance. This tour traces the development of the modern parliamentary district and explores how the area has been transformed over time to reflect Germany’s journey towards democracy and unity.

You will visit key landmarks such as the Reichstag, the Federal Chancellery and other important institutions along the River Spree, whilst learning more about their architectural and historical significance. Particular emphasis is placed on former Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl, whose leadership played a decisive role in Germany’s reunification and in establishing Berlin as the nation’s new political centre.

The tour lasts approximately 60 to 90 minutes and is conducted in English.
