Freedom and Security Women Summit
Women in authoritarian systems face a double burden of state repression and gender-based violence, yet they remain vital agents of democratic resistance. The Freedom and Security Women Summit brings this reality into the core of security and foreign policy.
The summit is an initiative by the Federal Commissioner for the Victims of the SED Dictatorship Evelyn Zupke, Masih Alinejad’s movement My Stealthy Freedom, the Axel Springer Freedom Foundation, and Frauen für Freiheit. Beyond mere visibility, the conference focuses on tangible political impact: drawing from firsthand testimonies and expertise from Afghanistan, Iran, Belarus, Venezuela, Cuba, and Ukraine to formulate concrete policy recommendations for German and European decision-makers in human rights protection, asylum, democracy promotion, and international security.
The event features prominent international leaders, activists, and experts, including Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tichanovskaja, Iranian human rights campaigner Masih Alinejad, Uyghur activist Rushan Abbas, Afghan tech entrepreneur Roya Mahboob, as well as political figures such as Julia Klöckner and Hannah Neumann.
German and English will be translated simultaneously.
The registration deadline is October 28, 2026.
