Future Freedom Lab – Youth Academy for Freedom, Tolerance

On-site
Workshop

What does a society look like in which freedom, tolerance, and participation are lived values? And what role do young people play in shaping it? The Youth Academy "Future Freedom Lab – Youth Academy for Freedom, Tolerance and Participation" invites around 100 young Berliners aged 15 to 21 to the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on 11 November 2025. As part of Berlin Freedom Week 2025, the Future Freedom Lab offers an interactive space where young people can not only explore core democratic values but also actively help shape them. Workshops, creative expression formats, and discussions with experts give participants the chance to develop their own perspectives, engage in democratic debate, and experience democracy as something practical and relevant to everyday life. Topics include freedom in a globalized world, active tolerance in dealing with diversity, and democratic responsibility in times of climate crisis, war, and digital overload. The academy provides space for critical thinking, creative ideas, and civic engagement. Whether in discussions, poetry slams, graffiti or theater workshops – young people are invited to experience democracy as a hands-on opportunity to contribute and take action. The Future Freedom Lab is aimed at students, members of youth organizations, and socially engaged young people from across Berlin.
