LINA MORGENSTERN – Wie eine Frau Berlin veränderte

Vor Ort
Theater

Her achievements in 19th-century Berlin seem nothing short of miraculous: writer, women's rights advocate, and social activist Lina Morgenstern founded over 30 charitable organizations, wrote several bestsellers, launched the first newspaper by women for women, and organized Germany's first International Women's Congress. She became famous, among other things, for the public soup kitchens she initiated—an effort that earned her the nickname "Suppenlina" (Soup Lina).

Drawing on new archival discoveries and two years of research, author and filmmaker Gerhard J. Rekel brings Lina Morgenstern’s life to the stage. — A musical theater piece about an extraordinary woman whose work left a lasting mark on Berlin.
