Reading stage: "Lesbische Selbstbehauptung in der DDR"
Drawing on texts, interviews and archival material, Dr. Teresa Tammer recounts the compelling life story of Karin Dauenheimer. As a theologian, feminist, lesbian and single mother, she did not meet the expectations of the state and society. She wrote for a feminist underground magazine and organized women's festivals that became a key pulse for the emergence of an East German lesbian movement. For years, she was therefore in the sights of the State Security Service.
