Value-Based Democracy in Germany – From the Head to the Heart

As a civil society organization that sees itself as a voice for a vibrant Jewish future in Germany, WerteInitiative – jüdisch-deutsche Positionen e.V. is contributing to Freedom Week Berlin with a panel discussion that touches on all of us: the protection of democracy and freedom.

How can the humanistic values of the German Basic Law become not only abstract principles, but a shared emotional foundation for society? How can constitutional patriotism – based on liberty, equality, and the rule of law – serve as an inclusive alternative to national concepts rooted in ancestry and ethnic identity?

Together with public figures, authors, and communicators, this event seeks to explore what binds us together in a democratic society, and how the spirit of the constitution can be brought to life.
