Resilience and the Role of Women in Civil Society Engagement

We aim to highlight how women worldwide act as key actors in political transformation processes and resistance movements. We seek women’s perspectives on security and freedom and build bridges between democracy movements and strategic politics. Our goal is to foster networking among experts, activists, and political decision-makers.

In times of increasing authoritarian regression, the question arises of how inclusive foreign and security policy can respond effectively to these dynamics. In this context, we want to focus on countries where women face particular challenges (e.g., Ukraine).

WIIS.de can involve representatives from various countries and organizations, utilize political foundations and their departments or networks, as well as engage the Afghan diaspora and exiled journalists from Belarus or Iran. Above all, however, we aim to include our experts from academia and politics, such as parliamentary research assistants in the Bundestag with relevant thematic expertise.
